Hello world. Time is ticking and I’m counting every second. Because of my new limitations, this unfortunately has to be my last letter. I don’t think people truly understand how much their thoughts and well wishes have helped me through this time in my life. Not everyone is as lucky as I am and it humbles me daily. You would be amazed what positivity can do in a negative environment. I’m going to miss reading about your lives. I’m going to miss looking at the pictures. They were the highlight of my days aside from speaking with my kids. Don’t stress over this in 27 days, the ride starts again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who is supporting I Am Not A Human Being. It amazes me each time people go out and support my music. I’ll always be in debt to you for that. Keep rocking your “Free Weezy” tees and rocking out to my music. Trust me when I say this is almost over. I love you. I’ll continue to pray for all of you. Just keep doing the same for me.
Nearly two years after being arrested on drug charges, Lil Wayne is finally set to stand trial in Arizona ... in 2010. The rapper (real name: Dwayne Carter) was busted in January 2008, when drugs were found during a search of his tour bus as it past through Yuma, Arizona at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint. During their search, the DEA confiscated 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and 41 grams of ecstasy pills. Weezy was charged with three felony charges -- including possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. A handgun was also found. Since the arrest, the rapper has pleaded not guilty. While he's remained quiet about the arrest, he addressed the incident during a performance in Richmond, Virginia days after his arrest. "A junkie can't do what the f*** I do. I try to tell them," he said. "I am the ultimate high, understand? I am my drug, you understand me?" According to the Phoenix New Times, the case has been delayed because the prosecutor in the case "doesn't offer misdemeanor charges for such offenses", halting any plea deals as well as delaying the scheduling of a trial. Lil Wayne's trial is now set to begin March 30, 2010.
Lil Wayne is stunting like his daddy, Baby "Birdman." Last year for Lil Wayne’s birthday, Baby gave him a million dollars in cash. This year, Baby wanted to give Lil Wayne something that could top that gift… So he got him a Chopard watch worth a million dollars and a iced-out cake with real diamonds worth over $55,000. Baaallllllliiiiinnnnnnn!
Louisiana's own, 'Old money' (Birdman, Lil Wayne) and new money (Drake) stack their paper in the green video for “Money to Blow” from Baby’s album PRICELE$$ (Nov. 24).
The long-awaited new album from Lil Wayne is getting pushed back again. Rebirth, which features more rock-influenced tracks, was due very early this year, but has experienced several delays. Louisianapaparazzi.blogspot.com has learned that the album's new release date will be December 15, just in time for Christmas, and typically the busiest shopping weeks of the year. The project was originally set for April, and was most recently set for November 24th, following the releases of the singles "Prom Queen" and "Hot Revolver." In July, Wayne explained why the anticipated album was experiencing delays. The reason being: to make way for the artists on his Young Money roster. "Honestly, I'm just starting up this Young Money label and I'm trying to get my artists down right. Get everybody together," Weezy said. "Once I got that together, then I could work back on me. I'm a very humble person. I know once I get to it, I'mma get to it. So like I was saying, it's Young Money time, so making sure my artists get their just due."
The Dream sort’ve confirmed that his ex wife Nivea was pregnant with Lil Wayne’s baby in a recent interview.
''I’ve never met him,'' The Dream says of Lil Wayne. ''We’re somewhere in the grey area I guess, cause we haven’t had the chance to talk. But I wish him and Nivea the best. If marriage comes up then we’ll definitely need to have a conversation. But right now we don’t need to, cause even though she’s pregnant, there’s no real commitment between them, to the point where we’d need to have a conversation.''
What does The Dream have to speak to Lil Wayne about? ( outside of his kids of course). We are not sure we feeling the fact that men are always trying to regulate what happens in their baby mamas/ex-wives new relationships. We are more interested in knowing if The Dream had a talk with Nick Cannon when he decided to wife up Milian since he works so closely with Mariah and all ??? For real, for real!
Superstar Lil Wayne’s manager is countering a Bahamian promoter’s claim that the rapper missed 2008 concert because he was “unconscious” at the time of the scheduled performance.
On Thursday (July 9) TMZ.com reported that Red City Entertainment had filed a lawsuit against the multi-platinum artist in regards to a missed appearance on September 27 of last year. The promoters claim that when Wayne was a no-show at the venue, police officers discovered him unconscious in his hotel room. Red City’s suit seeks a total of $432,000, with $210,000 of the amount representing Wayne’s advance, and the rest covering travel and other expenses tied to the show.
Lil Wayne’s hectic touring schedule last year contributed heavily to the total earnings of $18 million that landed him the number six position on the 2009 Forbes’ list of Hip-Hop Cash Kings.
Louisiana's own, Grammy- award winning rapper Lil Wayne, recently addressed his long-awaited Rebirth delay and said the project has been completed for some time.
In addition to speaking on the new album, Weezy also discussed the motivation behind his Kobe Bryant-based tribute song last month and the upcoming Hot Boys reunion. "The album is done," Wayne said in an interview. "It's ready to go. Just waiting on the label to press it up and ship it...[The song,] Kobe inspired that. I hit him up, texted him, during the play-offs and was like, 'I'ma do a song called 'You Can't Guard Me,' and he was like do it. And I did it. [The Hot Boys reunion], it's true. We're working on it right now. Everything looks like it's a go. We're just waiting on Turk to get out [of prison] and once that goes, then we're good. [He should be out] soon, soon. I'm not sure of the exact date, but very soon." (Street Gangs) Wayne previously said Rebirth would show fans a deeper side of himself. Check out the video below.
