C-MURDER SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON!

After being found guilty for second-degree murder in a second jury verdict this week -- twice -- rapper C-Murder was sentenced to life in prison, without the possibility of parole.

According to the Associated Press, District Judge Hans Liljeberg gave the 38-year-old rapper (real name: Corey Miller) the mandatory life sentence following his conviction in the 2002 shooting of 16-year-old fan Steve Thomas at a now-closed nightclub in Harvey, Louisiana.
C-Murder was found guilty in the case on Tuesday morning (August 11), but Liljeberg made the jury return to deliberations because he suspected they had rushed their verdict to end deliberation.
He had already been convicted in 2003 in the same case, but had that conviction overturned on appeal.
The jury voted 10-2 in their second verdict, finding that C-Murder shot Thomas once in the chest as the teen lay on his back while being beaten by the rapper's friends back in January 2002.
According to MTVNews.com, prosecutors said Tuesday that they were confident in the verdict and did not believe an appeal would be filed.
On Friday (August 14), the judge rejected a request from the rapper's attorney for a new trial, and the life sentence comes without the possibility of parole.
In a separate case, C-Murder has pleaded no contest to another second-degree attempted-murder charge, stemming from a 2001 incident at Baton Rouge, Louisiana's Club Raggs, where he allegedly pulled a gun on a bouncer.
His sentencing in the Club Raggs case is scheduled for August 25.

JUDGES CONSIDER RELEASING OJ SIMPSON

Despite being found guilty of kidnapping, armed robbery and other charges last year and sentenced to up to 33 years in prison as a result, OJ Simpson may soon be loose.

His attorneys are asking that his felony convictions be reviewed by a Nevada Supreme Court panel and are requesting be released on bail while the justices go over the case.

The justices are weighing whether Simpson or Stewart might flee, whether they pose a danger to the community, and if they have a good chance of winning their appeals.

It is unusual for the Nevada Supreme Court, the state's only appeals court, to hear oral arguments about bond, and it would be even more unusual for OJ and his co-defendant to be released. The last such high-profile appellant to get such a chance in Nevada skipped town after posting $100,000 in 1978.

In September 2007, OJ - accompanied by a group of men - barged themselves into a Las Vegas casino hotel room to confront two sports memorabilia dealers who he suspected stole his property. The incident escalated when OJ pulled out a gun and blocked the hotel room door, preventing the dealers from leaving.

We've learned law enforcement is looking for a doctor who lived at Michael Jackson's home -- and the doctor is nowhere to be found.Law enforcement sources says a BMW belonging to the doctor was towed from Jackson's home last night.Cops are looking to interview the doc. A law enforcement source says the doctor gave Jackson an injection before he died.Jackson reportedly may have OD'd on Demerol. As we first reported, family members were concerned that Jackson was taking too much morphine.

Update:

A close member of Michael Jackson's family has said that Jackson received a daily injection of a synthetic narcotic similar to morphine -- Demerol -- and yesterday he received a shot at 11:30 AM.Family members are saying the dosage was "too much" and that's what caused his death.

UPDATE: SAINTS CHARLES GRANT INDICTED ON MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE!

Here is how our friends over at Eary County News reports it---

New Orleans Saints defensive end Charles Grant has been indicted on a charge of involuntary manslaughter stemming from a February altercation at a nightclub.

Grant, who was stabbed in the neck during the fracas, was charged by an Early County grand jury that also charged Laquient Macklin with felony murder and feticide in the shooting death of Korynda Reed, 23. Reed died after being taken to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, after the fight early Feb. 3.

We are aware and have no comment," Saints spokesman Greg Bensel said.District Attorney Charles M. Ferguson could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.Sheriff's Capt. Will Caudill said at the time of the melee that there was no known connection between Grant and Reed. He said the fight started inside the club and then moved outside, and Grant was attacked after shots were fired.Woodrow Gray was indicted on a charge of aggravated assault in the knife attack on Grant, a former University of Georgia star from nearby Colquitt.

UPDATE: DRAKE SMASHES RIHANNA HOOK-UP RUMORS!!!

So, rumors that Rihanna and Drake were getting close circulated the web this week. But, Drake is denying the reports.

The NY Post reported Wednesday (May 20) that the two musicians were spotted kissing at New York's Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge bowling alley on Monday.
A source was quoted as saying, "She was drinking whiskey and apple juice and making out with him all night. ... They were really cute together."
However, Drake downplayed the rumors Thursday morning (May 21) during an interview with New York's Hot 97 radio station, saying he and Rihanna are just friends.
"It's not like that at all," Drake told show hosts Cipha Sounds and Paul Rosenberg. "I'm being honest. [She's] just a friend, that's all. A great artist."
He did admit that he was at the bowling alley with Rihanna as reported, but said nothing happened. "Nothing at all. I have the most respect for her. I think she's so talented."
Drake said he was honored that the NY Post's "Page 6" column chose him to throw into a romantic rumor with RiRi though.

We still think the two make a cute couple but there you have it! There's NO DRAKE/RIHANNA
