PREMIERE: "PRECIOUS" SCREENING IN TORONTO

Executive producer Oprah Winfrey, actress Mariah Carey and singer Mary J. Blige pose at the “Precious: Based On The Novel “Push” By Sapphire” press conference held at the Four Seasons Hotel on Sunday, September 13th in Toronto, Canada. They also held an exclusive screening of the film earlier in the day.
Other celebs there: Gabourey ‘Gabby’ Sidibe, Tyler Perry, Paula Patton, Sherri Shepard and more.
The film has been getting rave reviews throughout the movie festivals and will open nationally on November 6th in limited theaters.

BOX OFFICE: TYLER PERRY DOES IT AGAIN WITH 'I CAN DO BAD ALL BY MYSELF!'

Louisiana native, Tyler Perry is as good as gold these day, and with his latest flick, he was able to takeover the weekend box office.
Perry's latest movie, "I Can Do Bad All By Myself," features Taraji P. Henson "as a hard-drinking nightclub singer forced to care for her delinquent niece and nephews," said the Associated Press, while Perry himself plays his cross-dressing alter-ego, Madea.
The film took in more than $24 million to claim the weekend box office's top spot. It's Perry's second film this year to open at #1. His February film, "Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail", debuted in the top spot with $41 million.
Right behind Perry's flick is the animated "9", raking in$10.9 million this weekend. The flick is about hand-stitched dolls who represent the last vestige of humanity after a war between man and machine.
Other wide releases included the horror flick "Sorority Row" which came in at #6 with about $5.3 million, while the Kate Beckinsale thriller "Whiteout" placed at #7 with $5.1 million.
"Inglourious Basterds" landed at #3 in its fourth week, pulling in another $6.5 million to put its domestic total over $100 million.
Next weekend will see the release of the Sony anamation "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," the drama "The Informant!," the Megan Fox horror "Jennifer's Body", and the romantic comedy "Love Happens."

This weekend's top 10 is as follows:

1 - "Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself," $24.03 million.

2 - "9," $10.9 million.

3 - "Inglourious Basterds," $6.5
million.

4 - "All About Steve," $5.8 million.

5 - "The Final Destination," $5.5
million.

6 - "Sorority Row," $5.3 million.

7 - "Whiteout," $5.1 million.

8 - "District 9," $3.6 million.

9 - "Julie & Julia," $3.3 million.

10 - "Gamer," $3.15 million.

JANET RETURNS TO WORK ON THE SET OF 'WHY DID I GET MARRIED TOO?'

Janet Jackson is back at work after two traumatizing weeks, dealing with the death of her brother and King of Pop Michael Jackson.
According to co-star Malik Yoba, Jackson is on the set of Tyler's Perry's 'Why Did I Get Married Too,' the sequel to the 2007 flick 'Why Did I Get Married'.
Speaking of Jackson's return, Yoba, who plays her husband in the film, told fans Jackson "seems well.''
"For those of you who are curious about the state of Ms. Jackson, all seems well."
"She's here at work and we've got a couple of serious scenes to shoot today."
Why Did I Get Married Too is slated for release Spring 2010.
